Do you know the meaning of the statement "chop and clean mouth"? Basically, it refers to an opportunist, the actions of a self seeker, a person who has no real commitment, but is only after what he/she can gain.
Now pause, think about your relationship with God, is it built around what you can or hope to get from God or is it built around your knowledge of God?
Most times, when we are tempted to say God has not been so good, it is not because He has not been there for us, but most probably because there is one thing we seek that He has not granted. Hence, we forget about all the other things He has done, the things He is doing and place our focus on the one thing we don't have.
The truth is, needs actually bring most of us to God, things we need Someone bigger that us to help us accomplish. However, many of us want God to remain the stranger in our lives that simply gives us anything we want, our heaven maga(not father).
Philippines 3:10 says - I want to know Him inside and out. I want to experience the power of His resurrection and join in His suffering, shaped by His death[VOICE]. As seen here, a desire to know God is one of those things Paul always prayed about.
Lauren Diagle caught my attention when I noticed she has one of the highest nominations at this year's Dove Awards. "First" is the 1st song on her album, and like the first line in the song encourages, "before you bring your needs, why not bring your heart, and before you lift your cares, why not lift your arms" - all in all, always seek Him first. God Bless You!
