Anchor Song: Stayed On You
Artist; Tye Tribbett
I saw a picture yesterday of a lady who was backing a baby while she studied or did assignments and the picture had this caption; "this picture says so many things, what do you see when you look at it?". Several persons wrote what they saw. One person said it looks like a lady who is determined to finish her schooling, not letting the fact that she has a baby put an end to her dreams, another person saw a house help forced to care for a baby while she did her assignments while the parents of the baby are somewhere enjoying themselves,  then a third person saw an elder sister caring for her baby sister while the did her assignment. Reading through those comments, I knew they could all be right, but I was curious about what made each person think the way they did.
Later the same evening, I got talking to a friend and she mentioned IDP, the first thing that came to mind when I saw IDP was "Internally Displaced Persons" whereas she was talking about something that had to do with engineering. What made me think of Internally Displaced Persons when I heard IDP? It's because I hear it a lot each time I listen to the news both about boko haram and the Migrant crisis in the middle east.
Many of us do not realize how much our experiences and the things we've been exposed to affects our response to stimuli. It's good to be knowledgeable but please put a limit to what you know about what you don't want to see or become. Your mind will find ways to produce whatever it is full of, good or bad.
Remember that Paul is a scholar, yet he wrote in Philippians 4:8 - And now, brothers, as I close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about[TLB]. Your mind is your life's canvas, don't bother drawing what you don't want to become on it.
God Bless You!
