Do you realize that no matter how gigantic the dream or assignment God gave to people, what they needed to start off was never too far from them. While my teacher was teaching yesterday, he said that most people are too busy chasing things that are far from them and way beyond their reach that they miss out on the things within their reach that has the potential to deliver supernatural results. As I thought about his statement, some examples flashed through my mind that I'd like to share with you.
Let's start with Noah, and please, set aside what you saw in that Hollywood movie. Even though we were not told how Noah got all the materials he used for such a massive project, it also didn't seem like Noah went through unnecessary struggles to get it done.
Moses is another good example, I believe you know that after God informed him of his assignment as the deliverer of his people from bondage, the special tool God gave Moses was the staff in his hands, the same staff he had been using for his role as a shepherd.
Also, when David was going to defeat Goliath, he didn't have to go and look for some extraordinary weapon for the job, the same stones he had in his bag did the job. 1 John 5:3 says - For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome[ESV]. Just like this verse says, God's commandments will not be a burden to you, so if He wants me to do something, He starts connecting the dots from where you are right now. One of the things I've been learning is the fact that it is not necessarily the sophistication of my skill and equipment that guarantees victory, but the magnificence of the God that is backing them up. Therefore, the dots that connects to world domination and mind blowing achievements starts from where you are right now, it's left to you to either believe or not.
