Is it true that the reason God made provision for forgiveness is because He want us to sin? That was what a radio personality said on air yesterday, even though her co-host did not agree with her. She could have been joking though, but you know even jokes carry elements of truth. So I've been thinking about that statement, let's assume that it is true, then it means we won't be wrong to say the reason we buy fire extinguishers is because we want the house to burn, or the reason why we have seat belts and airbags in cars is because we want the care to have an accident.
If you've been following these posts, you must have noticed that I'm not one to talk so much about sin, because I believe knowing about sin doesn't bring you closer to the love of God, so I'd rather dwell on righteousness,  the love of God and anything else that brings you closer to Him. However, hearing some notions people have about sin has prompted these posts. God enjoys your fellowship, He's always looking forward to having you around, but not to come and ask for forgiveness.
1 John 1:9 says - God is faithful and reliable. If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done wrong[GW]. Beyond forgiveness, God also goes a step further to cleanse us when we ask for forgiveness, and I believe the reason He cleanses is because He wants to help us get rid of the wrongs, so that we won't keep asking for forgiveness. Therefore, there should be other things besides forgiveness that should bring you before God, so don't limit your relationship with God to just that, go further. God Bless You!
