What was your favorite practical class in secondary school? Since I was a science student I’d say it was Chemistry practicals, I’m sure I was not the only one that drank more than enough base solution all in the name of titration. However, if was not doing sciences, then home economics would have been my number one, I'm so sure the food tasted better than the base solution I was drinking in chemistry.
Every practical class has requirements, from the lab coats to the various tools and then the parameter needed for the experiment, all these come together to make the entire process successful. Likewise, even though the goal of going to church is to worship God, there are several other things you do that makes that entire process successful.
Some people can dance, some can sing, some can cry, some can laugh. God has given each and every one of us various ways to express worship, but does it make sense if you are unable to express this worship because you went to church unprepared? Just like you would call a physics practical student that came without calculator unserious, what will you call that person that has the ability to dance for God but goes to church with clothes too tight that he can't even move a muscle? Proverbs 16:32 says - Moderation is better than muscle, self-control better than political power[MSG]. You know how you feel like expressing yourself each time you get caught up in worship, therefore don’t go to church with anything that would limit you from expressing that worship. I’d just like to remind you today that you are not the centre of attraction in church, God is, and if God is, then let nothing limit you from getting the best of Him, not even your appearance.
