My Business and I?

I'm Ajoke Oladejo by name, a Nigerian, a community health practitioner, a public health technologist and a beader, I am a woman who owns a business in the fashion world, the business caters to both male and female by adorning them with handmade jewelry.

My business story?
I started bead making in 2007 as a student in the higher institution, the beading spirit was flying and I just caught the bud, I started making jewelry for myself and relatives. I had gone to buy a few tools with my pocket money and a Do-It-Yourself book and tried out designs in the book at my leisure time. I taught a few people who showed genuine interest then for free, I graduated in 2008 and I wasn't beading again until 2014 when it seems the beading spirit was fully back with its glory in Nigeria again, it felt like I used to do things and I can do them, likely for me, I was always moving around with the tools I had managed to buy then. I started buying materials again, I delved into wirework a bit. I just love making handmade jewelry, I will make, wear and give out too. I never saw a business coming out of it, I only felt pure passion for it. In July 2014, a good friend of mine walked in on me making beads and advised I take it seriously. That was when I decided to start and introduced MMG CREATIONS to my family and friends.



Challenges?
The hustle and struggle was beyond my imagination, I am the type who like testing the efficacy of whatever I am selling by myself, struggling to get the best of the materials I use, getting to incorporate my own creativity into what I see around, beading to meet up my client's/customers orders. Honestly, God has been faithful.

Balancing Personal life and Work?

The hustle and struggle was beyond my imagination, I am the type who like testing the efficacy of whatever I am selling by myself, struggling to get the best of the materials I use, getting to incorporate my own creativity into what I see around, beading to meet up my client's/customers orders. Honestly, God has been faithful.

Motivation in spite of Challenges?

The greatest part of my motivation comes from God and a host of other great people. I equally make quality use of the internet services. Wanting to do new things also propel me.

Trainees?

I am currently not taking trainees but I will love to someday, I will want continuity of creativity and add knowledge to those who desire it.

Advice to Aspiring Entrepreneurs?

My advice to aspiring and upcoming entrepreneurs including myself is never to be afraid to start small, be hardworking, to be truthful to their passion, acknowledge God as their source, be patient, communicate effectively, be honest with their ability and always strive to deliver perfect work.
