There is a natural human tendency to feel good in God’s presence when you think you have a clean slate before Him, but our true deliverance shows up when we understand that God’s thoughts towards you and I is not dependent on what we do, but on what Christ did,
Romans 8:7 says - Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing[MSG]. You see, the problem with focusing on self is that what you see is what you have done, but when you focus on God, you see what God is doing, and when you see what God is doing in and through you, you can appreciate Him better because you know, that you could never produce any of those things without Him.
You see, we must understand that the good we do as children of God is not to get God to be pleased with us, because the only condition to obtaining God’s approval is the sacrifice of Jesus, which has already been paid. Therefore, your good deeds are not what you show off to God, but what you are grateful to Him for because you know that He is the one producing those deeds through you. God Bless You!
