This kind be likened to what happened with the people of Israel in the Bible when Jesus came, they had anticipated a messiah that would come as a King and free them from oppression, but when the Messiah came as a carpenter’s son, they couldn’t believe it, thereby missing Him. John 1:11-12 says - Even in his own land and among his own people, the Jews, he was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and receive him. But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them[TLB].
Therefore, as you anticipate God’s arrival, get ready for surprises, accept that you don’t know what He would look like when He comes, so that you can be open and sensitive to receive Him, even if He decides to come in a still small voice. God Bless You!
