A Prof wanted to prove a point to his students on an ideology they disagreed with him on, so he told them that every student in the class would now get the same score in his test, and that score would be arrived at by taking the average of the scores from all the students in the class. After the first test, the average score of the class was a “D”, the guys that worked hard and actually got an “A” before the scores were averaged were displeased. Then the second test came, and this time the average score was “E”, by the time the results of the third test was released, the average score had moved to “F”, then the Prof told his students, that just like you can’t multiply success by dividing it, so also you can’t multiply wealth by dividing it[#StolenStory].
Reading the story above online reminded me of a story in Luke 12, where Jesus was teaching and someone from the crowd shouted, asking Jesus to ask his brother to divide the inheritance with him, here is the response he got, Luke 12:14 - Jesus said to him, "Who appointed me to be your judge or to divide your inheritance?"[God’s Word]. Sounds harsh, right?
However, can I just remind you that even though Isaac was a very wealthy man, Jacob’s wealth was independent of that of his father, because he had to run away from the house, and by the time he came back, he was already loaded. Look at Joseph too, as wealthy as Jacob was, Joseph’s wealth also wasn’t a product of that. Hence, stop looking for who would divide what with you, wealth is not multiplied that way, the two examples above show that God’s blessing can turn an empty purse into untold wealth. As you move into the year, understand that God’s doesn’t have to divide another man’s wealth to bless you, what you have in your hand is good enough for Him to start with, even if it seems like nothing. God Bless You!
