Sex is one of those topics I like to avoid public discussions on, maybe it’s because I don’t want to make anyone feel guilty, or because I believe it’s more profitable talking about the “dos” and not the “don’ts” of our Christian walk, I can’t say, but for some reason, I hardly do. I fully understand that we are in the dispensation of grace, and by God’s grace I have been growing in this understanding, but I’m getting worried about the attitude of some of us when it comes to sexual sin and this era of grace.

Do you know that fornication, adultery, or any other sexual sin is not an old testament ideology, something that became permissible because Jesus died? I sit and sometimes watch fellow Christians talk, and it seems like the death and resurrection of Jesus has given us the free licence to engage in these things without any form of remorse. I’m not really moved when non-Christians play down on sex and all, but when I hear people who appear to be active Christians do the same, it just breaks my heart.

While I was reading through Mary’s encounter with the Angel some time ago, I couldn’t just help but ask myself, what if Mary and Joseph had decided to experiment a little, would they have still been qualified to bring Jesus into the earth? Let’s even assume they did it a few times, and “grace” covered them, then do you know the paternity of Jesus would have remained forever disputed? For those that think Mary and Joseph abstained because the world wasn’t so sinful back then, then I suggest you watch movies that portray those times, then you will know they were probably worse, it is the children of God, based on their faith that choose to live differently. Titus 2:11-12 says - For the grace of God has come, giving salvation to all men, ?Training us so that, turning away from evil and the desires of this world, we may be living wisely and uprightly in the knowledge of God in this present life[BBE]. Like I always like to say, the grace of God doesn’t make it okay for you to sin, it actually makes it OKAY for you NOT to sin where others are sinning. God Bless You!
