Fashion Friday: THE PLEATED MIDI SKIRT

The pleated midi skirt are bottoms that commence at the waist; either the high waist (slimmest portion of the female body) or the lower waist, terminating somewhere between the ankle and the knee.

It is known in some quarters as ‘the good girl’ skirt, for the obvious reason that it provides all round coverage. The ‘nickname’, if one can call it that, is not unfounded as  it’s a very good candidate for Church or a first visit to see your to be in-laws (you know when you are absolutely not sure what look would please the parents of your boo and they are like pastors or something). 

Lol! I’m just kidding though. 

There is no hiding the fact that it is quite conservative but I see nothing wrong in conservative played properly. Because in this present day world where everyone wants to be raunchy, excessively provocative and just basically forcing me to digest their butts or shaven pubic region, it is a breath of fresh air. It’s like Taylor Swift in a Miley Cyrus video.

It could be worn with cropped tops (I know, I know; I’m a cropped top junkie), regular tops tucked into the skirt, off the shoulder cropped ( as I have done with a Zulu Obanor midi skirt below) e.t.c, and a nice pair of heels with whatever other appropriate accessory as you’d like.

You're beginning to think it's totally conservative right? 

Well, you're wrong.

Remember the key words are APPROPRIATE ACCESSORIES. You don’t want to end up looking like ‘My friendship’ or ‘Sister Memunat’. (No shades, just what comes to mind).

This is quite an easy one to pull off for every girl as it cuts across the shy/conservative ones to the bold/daring, so you have no excuse.
