JIB Crafts: The Inspiring Story of Plaans Apparel's Boss

Plaans Apparel
Hello fam!!
Let's hear it for the CEO/Creative Director of
Plaans Apparel, Ms Adebola 'Dayballer' Koleosho.
*inserts rousing applause here*
When I first met her, she was quite open and friendly, which is alright; my admiration and respect, however soared, when I found out she is an orphan. I can not imagine how life was for her, but she did make more out of what life handed to her.
Her faith in God remained steadfast, she hustled consistently and now she is on her way to the top. She is my very personal designer *winks*, my friend and 'padi' for a while now. If you like any of my gowns from the past year, she most definitely made them.

Why Fashion?
I ventured into fashion because I love to play with colours. Also,my mom was a fashionista, her dress sense made me love fashion. While growing up, my Dad bought us clothes regularly from the UK. I  grew up having many clothes, but most times, they were never my size or clothe of choice. So I will playful cut and reshape to my size and taste using needles and thread, sometimes the help of a seamstress a block away.

Major  Challenges:

First, my Dad didn't want me to learn it so I sacrificed my allowances to train. Secondly, combining classes and training was not easy. Thirdly, I had to travel to learn. I learnt how to cut and make clothes while in school. At some point I left school and came to Lagos to train.
Also, I made a lot of mistakes while experimenting. I ruined a lot of my mom's laces, my own clothes and as much clothes as I found lying around.
Most painful of all was that I had no one to encourage, support or motivate me. Along the line, my parents passed away. My family and friends didn't believe I could pull it off when I eventually started, my major supporters were people I didn't know. People who loved what I wore, supported and patronized as often as possible.

Motivation
Nothing motivates me more than my passion and aspiration. I promised myself, I was going to have a fashion house (Bespoke and ready to wear).Whenever I got discouraged, I would run back to my plan book, I will smell it and get back to work. Our bespoke and ready to wear store is open now and I bless God for that.

Advice to young and upcoming entrepreneurs

Be sure God wants you to venture into it. If you love it,learn it (My Dad wasn't in support. Few years after, he passed on;  I have earned a living through it every since. What if I had been deterred by him? )

Learn and learn it well. Be Patient.
Don't be moved. People will be discouraged when you make mistakes but don't let that kill your drive. Mistakes are "constant K"  when you just start so don't lose your passion because of that.
Please, avoid too much free jobs, it almost ruined me.
