Due to my obsession for good music, I'm naturally drawn to fellow music freaks like me, and even though my singing ability is still under construction, I like to hang around those who are skilled when it comes to singing. You see, one of the things I've noticed with many people who can sing, especially young people, is how much they find fault with other singers. You will often find someone who has not even released one song, criticizing another person that has 3 albums already. That key is too high, the pitch is not even standard, the parts are not sharp, bla bla bla.
Personally, I enjoy listening to skilled people sing, doing all the runs, making melodic twist and turns and hitting beautiful notes. However, I have come to understand that God gives unto each man according to his ability. Matthew 25:15 - To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away[ESV]. In this parable of the talents, the master wasn't comparing his servants with each other when He returned, He was comparing their output with what He gave them.
Therefore, irrespective of your field, learn not to criticize others because you have more skills than they do. The fact that you are better than another person doesn't mean you are at your best yet. Let each man's conscience be the judge. If your heart says you can do more, please go ahead, push further, but please do look down on those who can't, because doing so will only earn you a heart full of pride. God Bless You!
