Which of these two comes first in your life, Tribe or Christianity? Please, don’t rush, take your time to think before you chose an answer. Note that I said Christianity and not “religion”, because there is a big difference between the two. Religion is an institution to express belief in a divine power while Christianity is an expression of the life of God that we have received through Jesus. So, in all honesty, between Christianity and tribal associations, which is more important? 

I had to ask this questions because while it seems like many people are so religious and fervent, when tribe related matters arise, it seems even Christianity and all her values tends to disappears. We claim to all be brothers and sisters in Christ, but we are more concerned and loyal to those people who share the same tribal association with us. 

Galatians 2:11-12 - Later, when Peter came to Antioch, I had a face-to-face confrontation with him because he was clearly out of line. Here's the situation. Earlier, before certain persons had come from James, Peter regularly ate with the non-Jews. But when that conservative group came from Jerusalem, he cautiously pulled back and put as much distance as he could manage between himself and his non-Jewish friends. That's how fearful he was of the conservative Jewish clique that's been pushing the old system of circumcision[MSG]. I’m not against tribe, culture or heritage, but don’t you think Jesus should be a stronger bond than all these? If Jesus did not limit your access to God based on tribe, then why should you value others based on tribe? Think on these things! God Bless You!
