Living right and doing the right things can seem like a wrong way of life when you are surrounded with people who pride themselves in living with wrong values. It can even get more discouraging when it is those you feel should know better that criticize you most and we are often tempted to ask, it is worth it? So if you have ever wondered why you should not join people in doing wrong,they appear to be getting more reward from doing wrong than you get from doing right, I have a proposition for you.

If you think about the story of Noah, you'd realize that he was dealing with this particular dilemma. The people in his age were so bad that it was recorded that God was "sorry" he made made. But right after he said that, God Himself spoke about the goodness in Noah and testified that there was none like him in that season. Can you imagine what would have happened if Noah had been so frustrated by the behavior of the people and his lack of recognition that he decided to join them?

Galatians 6:9 - And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up[TLB].

Therefore, just as Noah entered an eternal blessing because he refused to join the "bad gang" of his days, I beg you to please stand for God and do what is irrespective of the actions of the majority. If you will always stand up for God, I strongly believe he'd always show up for you. God Bless You!

The Bible is filled with so many fascinating stories, stories that give us an idea of the functional side of God and how He gets involved with our life on a daily basis. One of those stories can be found in 2King 6:8-23.

In this story, the King of Syria decided to go to war against Israel, so he called his officials into a secret meeting and they developed their strategy. By the time they were done, God revealed all their plans to prophet Elisha, who in turn informed the king of Israel about the plans so that he could counter it. After the failure of his battle plans, the king of Syria was convinced there must be an informant in his camp, until he was told about the prophet, Elisha.

Daniel 2:22 says - He reveals profound mysteries beyond man’s understanding. He knows all hidden things, for he is light, and darkness is no obstacle to him[TLB].

Therefore, God is your universal informant, He gives you the wisdom to escape and avoid negative situations in places beyond your control. God Bless You!

Can you remember the days when it was almost impossible to host parties for children without having clowns and several people dressed in super hero costumes. From Power Rangers to Superman, then Mickey Mouse, Batman and a host of others.

To you as an adult, those things do not really freak you because you know it's just everyday humans that were  dressed in those super hero costumes, but for many of those children, they believe they are looking at the real thing, it's like a dream come true, like their favorite super hero became flesh.

So, can you let go of your inner child for just a moment, imagine yourself wearing one of those costumes and acting exactly like that super hero, wouldn't that be super cool? Now, imagine that the super hero who's costume you are wearing is CHRIST!

Actually, unlike with those clowns at children's parties where it is the humans wearing the costume that controls the "super hero" seen outside, when we give our lives to Christ, the reverse is the case.

Galatians 3:27 says - And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes[NLT]. You see, people don't see Christ, the super hero on our outside because He is a Spirit, but He is there. And in our case, it is not the human within that controls, but the Spirit that envelopes us.

Therefore, just in case you are not aware, you are a secret super hero waiting to be revealed, because you have put on Christ, the greatest super hero there will ever be. God Bless You!

Every time we ask God for a "Corolla", I think God responds with a Range Rover or Rolls Royce, but when we walk into the showroom and do not see any "Corolla", we walk out disappointed, thinking God did not answer, not knowing He actually answered with something bigger. I hope this analogy gives you an idea of the nature of the kind of God you have as a father.
When Jesus met Peter and asked to use his boat, you need to keep in mind that Peter was a professional fisherman, so He must have had a standard fisherman's boat that could carry enough fish even during peak fishing seasons. But when Jesus asked him to cast his nets into the same waters he had toiled hours before and caught nothing, he caught so much his standard fisherman's boat started sinking.
Also, when wine finished at the wedding in Cana and Jesus was asked by His mother to do something. I'm sure the wedding host would have been glad to have just any wine that would last till the end of the event, at least that would save them from the embarrassment of not having enough wine for their guest. But doing just enough doesn't seem to be in the nature of our God, He gave them more than enough of the very best. Psalms 132:15 says - I will surely and abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread[AMP].
Therefore, know that God surely answers prayers, He might not just answer in the way you were expecting. Hence, before you say God didn't answer you, look again, it's possible He decided to surpass your expectations. God Bless You!

Can you still remember how Jesus taught us to pray? I was with some peeps the other day and prayer was being offered of the new year, mehn this prayer was heartfelt, people pouring out their deepest gratitude and desires towards heaven, which is definitely a great way to start the new year, but after some time, a thought dropped in my heart that made me a little uneasy.
Sometimes, the way we pray makes it seem like we are just making a long “to do” list for God for the new year, listing things we want Him to do, and nothing WE are going to do. Now, this is not to say those mention I mentioned earlier were praying wrongly, God knows the heart and intent of every man, so it’s not for me to judge. I believe God would only have me remind you and I today, that any faith that makes God solely responsible for the outcomes of your life is an irresponsible faith[Bishop David Oyedepo].
So, while I thought about this, I am reminded to how Jesus taught His disciples to pray in what we now refer to as “the Lord’s prayer”[Matthew 6:9-13], Vs. 12 says - Forgive us for our sins, just as we have forgiven those who sinned against us[NCV]. As little as this verse might seem, it shows that God expects level of commitment from you and I by doing something.
Therefore, as you pray and plan for the year, don’t just make a list of the things you want God to do, include on that list the things you also want Him to help you do. I know someone might want to quickly remind me of grace, but can I just say, that grace is not licence to do nothing, but an energizer to do more than your strength would have ordinarily carried.
