If today, you get an unshakable assurance that come 2019, you would the next president of Nigeria, do you think there's any temptation that would be strong enough to make you commit fraud between now and then? Even if you've never been the straight forward type, from the moment you get that assurance of such a lofty promise, you'd never want to do anything that could jeopardize the promise. So may I ask, what are you willing to sacrifice now just to preserve that future that you see/seek?

I'd like to believe that Joseph must have thought about Potiphar's wife's offer when she started to give him the "green lights",  weighed it against the dreams God had given to him and decided it wasn't worth it. He must have been so convinced that God's promise was worth so much much more that he was willing to suffer undue punishment that to preserve the dream he had seen.

You see, just like life doesn't support vacuum, I believe we are also not wired to just sacrifice or give up something we really want without having something better in view. The 4 Hebrew boys didn't just give up their portion of the menu from the king's table for nothing, I believe they were convinced they were getting something more valuable in return.

Hebrews 12:2 - Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterwards; and now he sits in the place of honor by the throne of God[TLB]. Even Jesus, didn't come to die on the cross for nothing, He knew what He will get afterwards will be worth all the suffering and pain he'd have to go through.

Therefore, if indeed you have seen a future so bright that you know only God can make it happen through you, the question I'd like to ask you is, what are you willing to give up to get it? God Bless You!

One experience everyone who attended a public school must be familiar with is mass punishments. Times when a teacher or a school prefect would decide to punish an entire class for the sins of "everybody". In most of these cases, there are usually innocent members of that class, who were not party to the noise making, neither were they involved in causing any trouble, yet they take a full portion of the punishment just because they are members of that class.

In the same way, the benefits you enjoy in Christ is not because of what you do today, but because of what Jesus did over 2000yrs ago. Jesus, the innocent one, took the punishment of all the guilty people on earth so that these guilty people can now become innocent like Him.

Romans 5:10 - If the death of his Son restored our relationship with God while we were still his enemies, we are even more certain that, because of this restored relationship, the life of his Son will save us[GW].

Notice that the Bible says our relationship with God was restored while we were still His enemies, not when we decided to believe in Him. This means for everyone who is yet to give his/her life to Christ, God, on His part has actually done the reconciliation, His only waiting on them to accept it. Just in case you are one of those people, what are you waiting for?

Also, if it wasn't your actions that made God love you in the first instance, then your actions or in actions can not make Him love you any less now. Therefore, just in case you've ever had a reason to doubt, I need you to know that you can always trust in God's love for you, even when men fail. God Bless You!

When you hear people talk these days, there is often a sound of helplessness that comes forth. They don't seem to like some things going on around them, either in their family, class, politics, society, even relationship, yet they feel there is very little they can do to change it.

While going through my Bible the other day, I read a story that seems very similar to the experience described above, it's the story of the man named Gideon. Most of us know him a strong man and leader, but before that phase of his life, there was a phase where he felt helpless about the conditions around him.


When God first came to recruit Gideon, he was busy gathering the wheat they had harvested so that he could hide it from the Midianites, because they had the habit of coming to steal from the children of God. So when God called Gideon, saying "brave man, the Lord is with you", he replied; Judges 6:13 - Gideon responded, “Excuse me, sir! But if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all the miracles our ancestors have told us about? Didn’t they say, ‘The Lord brought us out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and has handed us over to Midian"[GW].

So, if you were to get a similar call from God, what would your response be? Would you let the challenges around define your value or would you have faith in what God has placed within you. We know Gideon's name today, because he responded to what has placed within him. Hence, it doesn't matter how it looks right now, what is within you is much greater than any challenge that might be around you. God Bless You!

Growing my nails was something that appealed to me when I was much younger. I don't know how I fell in love with long nails, but I remember going through various editions of the Guinness book of world record to find out who had the longest nails and how long they were. I was ready to do whatever it would take to grow those kind of nails, but almost every adult I know hated the idea, and that it how it was laid to rest.

If you think back, especially to that stage of your life when you were often referred to as young and naive, you might find some dreams or wishes that might surprise you even now that you could have those at such a young age, but for many, we were unconsciously taught not to dream so big.

There was a time in human existence when men only eat whatever they can gather from their immediate environment, but now due to development, you can eat anything that grows anywhere in the world right where you are.

Likewise, you should also strive to develop as a man to the point you move from comfortably processing  ideas that are within your reach to those that initially seem far away. Speaking of the heroes of faith, Hebrews 11:13 says - These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth[NKJV], they had dreams that initially seemed unreachable, but they grew to a point where they could embrace those same dreams.

Hence, if it's true that you now have the mind of Christ, don't you think that mind should come with some thoughts from heaven, thoughts that are "out of this world"? In Christ, you can break out of every mental mould that keeps men small, and start dreaming some God-size dreams. God Bless You!

When you enter the kitchen with the intention of frying some eggs, are you going to have anything to do with the kettle? But when it's now time to make "eba", it's almost certain that picking up the frying pan won't cross your mind either.

You need to always remember that you are not God's only child, so when you hear people give testimonies around you and yours hasn't happened yet, it doesn't mean God has forgotten you, it only means it's not yet your turn.

I remember Usain Bolt at the last Olympics talking about how hard it was to have wait several days before starting the athletics event, when some people have already won quite a number of medals. Yet, they had to keep focus and continue training, refusing to get distracted.

Likewise, some people lose focus and allow bitterness, envy and the likes overshadow their hearts when others around then are getting blessed, and these even blocks them from receiving when God is ready to bless them.

God assures us in Isaiah 49:15 saying - Eternal One: Is it possible for a mother, however disappointed, however hurt, to forget her nursing child? Can she feel nothing for the baby she carried and birthed? Even if she could, I, God, will never forget you[VOICE].

Therefore, try as much as you can to ensure you have goodwill towards all men. Even if God decides to bless every single person in the world, He can never go broke before getting to your turn, so it's only a matter of time, your blessing is on the way. God Bless You!

I believe you know that the Holy Spirit was sent to come and do the same work Jesus was doing here on earth for you and I, but do you what that entails? To start with, Jesus already died for your sins, so the Holy Spirit is not going to do that. In fact, the simple truth is that Jesus has paid for all your sins in full, so everything that has to do with sin was settled by Jesus.
When Jesus was going to introduce the Holy Spirit to His disciples, He said to them in John 14:16 - I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you[TLB]. The word "another", implies that Jesus was acting as a comforter too while He was physically on earth, so let's look at how He comforted.
When Lazarus died and Jesus went to comfort his family, did you know He didn't go there to tell them "sorry", He comforted them by fixing their loss. When blind Bartimaeus met with Jesus, Jesus didn't help him feel better with his condition, Jesus fixed it. Even the woman with the issue of blood that codedly touched Jesus, got completely healed. Look through your Bible, every one Jesus comforted got a solution to their problem, not a way to feel better living with the problem.
Therefore, another comforter means another solution giver, another Mr Fix-it and Jesus said this Mr Fix-it will never leave nor forsake you, no matter how tough the challenge. Hence, is there something you need to fix, or you need a solution to a stubborn challenge, or you just want the effect of a loss eliminated, the Holy Spirit - your comforter, is the best man for the job. Something strange happened yesterday. You see, for a larger part of the last few years , I've been going to the same salon to get my hair fixed almost on a weekly basis and these are the constants every time you walk into that barber's shop: VERY loud music, lots of teenagers and young adults(mostly guys, but girls come around from time to time), and alcohol. My barber is the kinda guy that likes to get his groove on, especially on Friday nights which is when I often cut my hair, so I've gotten used to seeing him take a few shots before he gets down to work.
However, just yesterday, I walked into the same shop and something was different. The music was still very loud, but for the first time since I can remember, my barber had a playlist of Christ centered songs blasting through his speakers. I was definitely surprised, but I kept quiet. Then it occurred to me, that throughout the time I was there, neither him, nor any of the guys in the shop had anything alcoholic, another strange sight. Typically, that shop is the only place I get exposed to the most uncensored songs I've ever been exposed to, it's the only place I've ever had to hear the most uncensored convo I couldn't block my ears from, and it's the same place I get to see the new trends of getting high, but yesterday, all that was absent. As I left that shop yesterday, these things struck my heart - indeed, every heart has a void that only God can fill and music can change a man, positively or negatively.
Luke 19:10 says - The Son of Man came to find lost people and save them[NCV]. So while we enjoy the privilege of knowing Jesus, let's not forget He's interested in saving the lost also, and if there's a lost soul you can gift a Christ centered song to, please do, because God can use something as simple as a song to change a man's life.
