It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, it is why he does it - A.W. Tozer. I saw this quote while going through a very impactful devotional on the YouVersion Bible app titled Passion: The bright light of glory by Louie Giglio, and I must confess that I thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of that devotional.
Now, just think about that quote again, if it is not what a man does but why he does what he does that determines if what he does is sacred or secular, then it means anything and everything can be either sacred or secular. It means a man can be a pastor and his pastoral assignment can be secular while another man is a businessman, yet his dealings are sacred.
It also means that the fact that you work in a bank, school, hospital, law firm, entrepreneur, whatever doesn't make what you do any less sacred when compared to your pastor if you've got your "why" right. So why do you do what you do? Why are you pursuing that particular kind of life/future?
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven[AMP].
If bringing glory to the One who made you is not at the core of your "why", then you need to make it sacred sacred. God Bless You!

Assuming the only bottle of water available around you mistakenly falls to the ground and though the water didn't spill, the bottle got stained with mud. Would you still consider the water inside the bottle safe for drinking after you wash off the mud on the bottle?
Again, let's assume you bought another bottle of water and while trying to open it, you find that though the bottle is tightly sealed, there are large black particles swimming in the bottle. Would you consider that bottle of water safe for consumption just because the container holding the water is perfectly clean on the outside?
You and I are made up of Spirit, soul and body. The real you is your spirit, the body is just your container. The day you give your life to Christ, your old man, that sinful nature attached to the real you dies, and God gives you a new Spirit. That is why the Bible says in Galatians 2:20 - My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me[NLT].
Therefore, as you go through your daily experiences, this your container - your body might fall a few times, the fall might even result in a few mud stains, but guess what, the real you, your Spirit is not contaminated. When you want to define yourself, remember that the real you is your Spirit, so let what God has done in your Spirit be the focus of that definition. God Bless You!

“Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over - John 12:24[MSG].
I'm sure you are familiar with the elementary principles of planting, the only way to multiply your produce is to plant some of it. But then, I want you to imagine how difficult it must be for any seed to agree to go through the planting process.
Sitting on a shelf, the seed is comfortable, no stress no worries, but would that seed ever multiply on that shelf? Think about it, even if water is poured on a seed on a shelf and sunlight also shines on it, would it grow?
Likewise, I think even for us as humans, the best of growth comes from difficult/unpleasant conditions. Like that seed, when we grow through through that experience that seems to be killing, we also have an opportunity to experience an increase.
I have mentioned before that roots do not make holes in the soil, they only look for gaps/spaces, no matter how tiny, plug into it and grow from there. This means that in every difficult or overwhelming situation, there are always gaps and spaces for us to plug into and gradually grow.
Jesus died so that He could reproduce Himself in you and as many as would receive Him into their lives. In the same way, every death-like experience you go through is also offering you a chance to reproduce much more than what is being taken away from you. God Bless You!

What if I tell you that preventing troubles from coming your way is not always the best option? Yes, I know you might not really want to agree with me, but just hear me out. It is true to no human likes to go through troubling situations, and if it were left to us, each and everyone of us would actually want to escape any form of trouble, but what if escaping those troubles would also mean escaping your time of visitation by God.
While listening to Pst. Creflo Dollar some days ago, he taught about the story of the man by the pool of Bethesda, and he said that isn’t it mind-boggling that the indicator of the pool’s readiness to heal is the troubling of it’s waters? Even if you choose to swim in it all day, as long as it had not been troubled by the Angel, it makes no difference in your life. So, what has been your response when the waters of your life gets trouble, have you been diving in or been looking for a way to escape?
Psalms 34:19 says - The good man does not escape all troubles-he has them too. But the Lord helps him in each and every one[TLB]. The first thing we need to consider is, if the man is good/righteous, then why does he have to go through troubles if they are not important? I can’t seem to think of any notable person in the Bible that had a smooth sailing life, Esther, Moses, Joseph, Jacob, Paul, Jesus and every other person had their fair share, and if you notice, those troubles marked the defining moments in their life.
Hence, I don’t know where you are right now, but I need to start seeing troubles as your change of gear to higher levels, because God’s promise to you is that even those things the enemy has planned for evil, He will always work out for your good. God Bless You!
