Hey! I have a message for you, as much as it is important that you learn from other people's experiences, please never ever define yourself by other people's experiences. The fact that someone ended up in a certain way after going through what you are currently going through doesn't mean you too will end up like that person, and the fact that someone you know and probably respect failed doesn't reduce your chances of success.
Mark 5:24-25 - Jesus went with the man. A huge crowd followed Jesus and pressed him on every side. In the crowd was a woman who had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years[GW]. I believe you are familiar with this story, but I want you to note from the first part of the verses above that when the woman with the issue of blood came to touch Jesus, she wasn't the only one "touching" Him. In fact, the Bible records that a huge crowd pressed on Jesus, yet she alone got healed by touching.
Also, I'd like to remind you that Moses must have been Joshua's mentor, and I can only guess that Joshua must have been looking up to Moses all his life. Yet, for some reason, Moses didn't enter the promise land, but Joshua did. So as much as you respect the blessing and talent God has placed in people's lives, please don't be too humble to dream bigger and aim higher.
In as much as we seem to have a culture that confuses a low expectation with humility, I don't think it's scriptural. Elisha asked for a double portion of the grace on Elijah, and guess what, he got it. Therefore, be like Elisha, be humble enough to serve and courageous enough to desire the next level. God Bless You!

Won't it be nice to live in a trouble free world? One of those things I really can't help about myself is my love for my country, and this love moves me to make efforts contribute to my environment, even if no one else does. However, I must admit that sometimes, I wonder if it's possible to achieve that good, orderly and responsible society we all crave.
Besides the corrupt practices of government officials, the evil and disservice that fellow citizens do each other is almost worse. From different forms of financial fraud, to police brutality, ritual/cult killings, rape/sexual harassment, etc, and when I look at all these things, I can't help but wonder, when would we ever be able to reduce these to the bearest minimum?
The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing THAT ENTIRE MASSIVELY CORRUPT CULTURE. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, FITTING EVERY LOOSE THOUGHT and EMOTION and IMPULSE into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity - 2 Corinthians 10:3-6[MSG].
You see, the root cause of all the evil/problem in the world is Sin, and all the good people in the world can do is treat the symptoms. However, you and I have been given a better solution, a very potent antidote, that is Jesus. What the world needs is not more laws or bigger punishments, the world, our society, simply needs Jesus. It's impossible to really know Jesus and consciously do things that would harm your neighbour. In fact, knowing Jesus actually helps you unconsciously do things that'd bless your neighbour. Hence, if you want to have heaven on earth, please know Jesus and share the Gospel with those around you. God Bless You!

Do you know that the devil is not really trying to plant a tree in your life, all he wants to do is plant the seed. Just think about it, if by the time you wake up tomorrow morning, you see a big tree outside your house that wasn't there today, won't you be scared? However, chances are that there is a tiny green plant shooting out of the ground in a corner of your compound that you haven't even notice, and if you overlook it when noticed, it can then grow to be a big tree.
Likewise, you won't develop a terrible habit overnight, but your resistance towards a habit your once despised can erode on a daily basis till it appears normal to you. The first time you notice a colleague at work cutting corner or taking cuts from customers, it will appear terribly wrong to you, but if care is not taken, and you continue to look at that colleagues and what the money is doing for that person, it's very likely that you'd join the person.
Just the other day, my friend called me to come check out something in an animated movie. He saw something and wanted to know if I'd see it too, and yes, I did. Buried in one of the last scenes in the movie is 1-2seconds of a scene that promotes homosexuality. It was so short that I'm sure majority of those that see that movie won't notice. I thought to myself, why put it if most people won't notice, but it occurred to me that those that put it know as short as it is, it's long enough to plant the seed, especially in young minds. Even my friend admitted he was planning to send it to his nieces and nephews before he saw that scene, so what if he didn't.
Proverbs 4:23 - Guard your heart more than anything else, because the source of your life flows from it[GW].
Before anyone will do anything bad, their mental resistance towards it must first be lifted. So guard your heart, else your life will be totally defenseless. God Bless You!

If there is one thing I'd like to plead with you to do today, and every other worship time that you have, it will be to practice to the best of your abilities, what this song says. It's really simple, it says "casting crowns, lifting hands, bowing down - is all we've come to do".
One of the things every soldier knows, is the fact that every battle fought, is fought on behalf of the king/president. Hence, the victory of every battle also belongs to the king. I believe that is one of the major reasons why the President of every country is also referred to as the "commander in chief of the armed forces".
Likewise, every opportunity to worship God is another opportunity to pledge our allegiance to Him as our very own commander in chief, where as His soldier, we cast the crowns of every victory we have because we know we couldn't have done it without Him. 2 Timothy 2:3 says - Share in the troubles we have like a good soldier of Christ Jesus[NCV].
According to my teacher, it is important to cast every crown because doing that protects the crown. Casting our victories before God means acknowledging God is the owner, which means anyone who wants to either steal or damage it would have to first collect it from God. Also, it's hard for pride to settle in the heart of that person the regularly casts crowns before God, because when you look at yourself, all you'd see is what Jesus has done. God Bless You!

Do you realize that killing Goliath didn't mean David was ready to become King the following day, so wait for it, don't rush yourself. Just imagine how David must have felt when he single-handedly killed the giant that had been terrorizing an entire nation. At least the Bible gave us a clue, it's on record that the ladies started composing songs about what he did, so I can just imagine the number of ladies that were crushing on him, yet it didn't mean it was time for him to take over the throne.
If God gives you the kind of success He gave David at such an early stage, would you remain humble, would your character remain the same? There are so many with exceptional skills, but whose character can crush anyone under them, so if you were God, would you put them at the top?
Ecclesiastes 9:11 says - Again I looked throughout the earth and saw that the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous; but it is all by chance, by happening to be at the right place at the right time[TLB]. You see, I believe this verse is not saying being the best at what you do isn't important, but it's saying there's something additional that guarantees success, which is what I like to call the God factor. That verse says things happen by being at the right place at the right time, but remember, if you trust and acknowledge the Lord in all your ways, He will direct your path - that direction it's so that you will always be at the right place at the right time. God Bless You!

I think it's time we changed the universal method of asking out ladies. Who even came up with this idea of smooth talking and playing "Mr Nice guy"? Why not let's work with verifiable data instead. You see, in this age and time where there is so much talk about divorce, domestic violence and the likes, won't it be nice to use all the available data we have on this to our[the guys'] advantage.
So I'm saying you walk up to that lady that's been forming for you, it's okay to do this over lunch or dinner, let's still leave that part of the process. So you approach the lady, and instead of trying to woo her with sweet words and kind gestures, you give her the fact and figures on divorce and domestic violence, then let her know she runs the risk of being a part of the number if she let's you go. Make sure you gather as much information as you possibly can before doing this, and I'm sure a few striking examples of domestic violence and painful divorce would come in handy. Don't you think this approach would yield more results?
To every one who feels offended already, especially the ladies, I'm very sorry. I actually do not mean it, but I needed that example to draw comparison with the way I hear most people preach the Gospel this days. Now, this is not to say I have the right to tell anyone how to preach, and I must also commend that effort to even share the good news with someone, which many are not doing. But then, I often here many preachers trying to strike fear within people, focusing so much on the works of the devil, demons, witches and the likes. So I'd like to ask, would striking fear in lady's heart help you win her love?
1 John 4:18 says - No fear exists where his love is. Rather, perfect love gets rid of fear, because fear involves punishment. The person who lives in fear doesn’t have perfect love[GW]. I know there is something called the wrath of God, but let me just remind you that the Bible didn't say for God had so much wrath for the world, it said for God so love the world. Love is the answer, live it, preach it. God Bless You!
