JIB Inspiration: THE UNEXPECTED END

For I know the thoughts that I have towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of good and not of evil, that you may have an expected end

Jeremiah 29:11

I am sure most of us have heard and even quoted this verse more than a few times as often as the need arises. And if we are completely honest with ourselves, we  say this verse out of fear more often than out of the need to reaffirm God’s thoughts  towards us in every situation we find ourselves in but that's a post for another day.

Recently, this verse brought to mind a very different thought than the need to either reaffirm or fearfully challenge anything; it brought a different perspective to what God wants us to learn from the verse also.

Let’s take a look at that last part of the verse, ‘…that you may have an expected end’; this got me thinking that if God has promised us an expected end, then there must be an unexpected end.

Yes!

We are familiar with unexpected ends in form of broken relationships, disappointments, hurts, lack and any form of hardship, to name a few. These unexpected ends come from us not knowing the thoughts that God has for us though. They come from going ahead in complete ignorance of what God would have us do per time concerning any situation. We sometimes experience unexpected ends when we do not first seek to know the mind of God concerning us.

So how do we avoid this hurtful ends?

All we need to do is to dedicate time to know exactly what those thoughts of good are because what may be good for Mr A could be very bad for Ms B. Look around you, the faces are as different as the will and purpose of God for each and everyone of us; so it is the smart thing to find out what ‘thoughts’ are tailored exactly to suit each one of us as individuals. 

Here is an example: The manufacturer of a product knows the exact purpose for the manufacturing of the said product; no one knows what need the product has been made to met better than the manufacturer. One of the reasons why some products are either misused or under utilized (both of which are unexpected ends) is simply because the end user doesn’t use the product to meet the need that the manufacturer made the product for.

In the same vein, to experience an expected end, we need to go to God to understand our purpose in life. To be able to discern between what appears good for us and what is really good for us, we need to ask God to reveal His thoughts to us.

So, my dear readers, stop struggling too hard to build when you should be packing up; just take out time to seek God ‘s face concerning every single aspect of your life and He is sure to show you exactly what you need to know. 

There are enough people in the world today who have found theme selves in unexpected ends; do not be one of them. 

You have been made to experience God’s good in this world by treading the path of an expected end!
