Wherever two, three or more are gathered together in God's name, your inclusion in that number is very important. Today, I'd like to discuss three examples from the Bible that would show the role you play and these should help you take your contribution to church services or any other spiritual gathering more seriously.
If it wasn't documented in the Bible, would you have believed that the unbelief of people around hindered the flow of God's power through Jesus. Just think about it, a whole Jesus, 100% man and 100% God, "could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them"[Mark 6:1-6]. I'm sure you'd agree that Jesus was always full of God's anointing, yet in this case the output was low, so you see that "dry" gatherings are not always due to a lack of anointing?
Case 2: I believe you already know what happened at the tower of Babel, and it case you don't, well, some guys decided to build a tower that would get to heaven. It wasn't stated how high they went, but they did enough to get God's attention (maybe the current world's tallest building isn't even as tall as what they did, who knows). However, "the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do". Please note, there was no mention that this people were anointed, all they had was unity.
Psalms 133:1-2 - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil [of consecration] poured on the head, Coming down on the beard, Even the beard of Aaron, Coming down upon the edge of his [priestly] robes [consecrating the whole body][AMP].
I hope you see that as much as the anointing is very important, which might not always require your input, unity is also very important, and this requires your input. To show that, think about the day of Pentecost, it was recorded that "they were all with one accord in one place". Hence, i guess we can conclude that a united church is a powerful church, and you have a role to play in that unity. God Bless You!
