Why should you bother giving your best when everyone else around does not even seem to care? It’s
even more annoying when you have to deal with team members who have a lackadaisical attitude to work, and it seems like you are just wasting your efforts when you put in your best.
Sometimes, you get tired of being the good one. It;s like everyone things they can just take you for a ride because they know you will always be good. It is not as if you do not know how to play evil, and you sometimes wish you could just show them some level of wickedness so that you can prove you are not a fool.
People are cutting corners, but you choose not to. Those that are cutting corners seem to be getting away with it, but for the sake of your integrity, you decided it’s not for you. However, time has gone by, and it seems like you are the fool because while those that have cut corners seem to have benefitted, you appear to have nothing to show for doing the right thing.
Ecclesiastes 11:6 says - In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hands, for you know not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether both alike will be good[AMP]. While it might seem logical to only give your best/all where it matters, the question is, how do differentiate when does and when it doesn’t? Remember it wasn’t the connection in Potiphar's house that made Joseph, it was the one from prison. It’s better to be that person that always gives 100% than to miss out of a divine opportunity just because it landed on the day you chose to under-perform. Even if it’s just for the sake of the God you carry, always give your best – it doesn’t hurt.
