For some reason, I am just moved to ask, that if the magnitude of God’s love for you was dependent on your ability to blow His mind, do you think you stand any chance at all? Just think about it, you know the affection between a lady and a guy can be stimulated with the use sweet words, imagine if it was the same way with God, how long and how much do you think you would have to say to get Him to look in your direction?
From the little I know about dealing with ladies, I know it is much much easier for everything you say to sound like the most amazing line in the world when the lady already has a soft spot for you, but if she’s not just into you, even if you cook up the most awesome line ever, it still would not touch any nerve.
So while I was thinking about how much God loves me, I started thinking about the place of what I say in this matter, and I am reminded of what the Bible says in 1 John 4:19 - We, though, are going to love — love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first[MSG].
Therefore, the reason what you say to God even makes sense at all, is the fact that He, God, loved you first. He was already “crazy about you” even before you gave your life to Him, so now that you have, every word you say sounds like the most awesome line ever cooked up. Hence, just like you look forward to that special someone saying sweet things to you, you are God’s special someone, and He is always looking forward you to talking to Him. Don’t you think that’s a special privilege? God Bless You!
