Even if you don’t feel like it yet, even if it doesn’t seem like it around you, there is a fact you can’t change right now, and that the fact that it’s a new year already. And just like this year will continue either you choose to acknowledge it or not, I also believe it’s time for you to develop the same attitude for some areas of your life. 2015 is gone, never to return, and I think there are doors you must make a conscious effort to shut with 2015. The truth is, if you enter into 2016 mindful of every single experience that defined your 2015, then chances are high that you will only reproduce another 2015 in your life. Hebrews 11:15 says - If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return[NIV].
Thinking about what that verse says, is it not then possible that some people have been living in a particular year for some time now, say 2, 4, 6yrs or even more? I mean, even though the years keep changing on the outside, because their minds are still stuck in a particular year, they keep reproducing it over and over again. That would have been okay, if not for the fact the most people only know how to relive the unsatisfactory parts of their past.
Therefore, my message to you today is, no matter how unsatisfactory 2015 was, God has a much better plan for you this year, and no matter how amazing 2015 was for you, there is even much more where that came from. The best part is that God has written these things in His word, so that you and I can start filling our minds with them. If you can successfully fill your mind with what the Bible says is God’s plan for your life, then it would almost impossible for those plans not to come to pass. God Bless You!
