Diary Of A Growing Christian
09:53
The story of the woman with the issue of blood was one I heard from when I was a little girl. In the past week, I pondered again over how the woman took a bold step even though the audience was large.
What if she had been caught? What if one of the disciples had pushed her away? Or if she had gotten ridiculed for her disease? And everyone had started laughing at her?
And behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment;
For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be made whole
Matthew 9: 20-21
Some bible versions record that she thought 'If I can just touch the hem of his garment,I will be made whole". She went right ahead to do it and she was cured of her twelve year old ailment.
It brings to mind how I have stalled at taking decisions, developing myself or working towards building a better relationship with God. When all I had to do was act on the thought, "If I can just..."
So my darlings, whatever the feat is you need to achieve, it all starts with taking the bold step after "If I can just.."
But Jesus turned about and when he saw her,
he said, Daughter, be of good comfort;
thy faith hath made thee whole.
And the woman was made whole from that hour
Matthew 9:22
Also, Jesus Christ turned around and asked who had touched him. He knew virtue left, He felt that someone had gone past just the thought of "If I can just..." and He wanted to celebrate that person.
When you take that bold step, Christ is waiting to take your hand and go all the way with you. You just need to move and stop thinking just thoughts.
Beyond believing and having faith, you also need to take the step that makes more out of 'If I can just..."
The last part of verse 22 tells us that she was made whole from that hour, being made 'whole' is not just cure for her disease. It means that she was restored to a state of perfect well-being, this includes financial, medical, mental, psychological and all the '...-cal' that she required to be whole.
That's how Jesus rolls, fam!
He doesn't just give you what you want, He supplies all that you need per time from when you encounter Him, from the minute you decide to go past the " If I can just..." thought. He, in His graciousness and love for us, give exceedingly abundantly more that we could ever imagine, not to mention ask.
All that is required of you and I is to reach out and touch Him, and He would turn to us, and make us whole.
So no matter what it is that you struggle with or aspire to become in accordance with God's divine purpose for your life, Jesus Christ is waiting for you to tap into His unending flow of virtue and be propelled into a life of joyous abundance.
Note To Self:
"The Lord will definitely bless me with ideas
I hereby promise to go beyond the "If I can just..." point
I would strive to do all that is required to live as a heir to the throne of Grace
I would tap into the ever-flowing well of God's available virtue
For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
AMEN"
