Daily Prophetic Flow; Devotional by Dr. Amos Fenwa: 8/Nov/2015

03:29

I first saw the posting of  a daily devotional on Kemi Filani's blog and I decided to do same here because it does help me to be more consistent with my prayer and Bible study time. Also, it keeps me accountable because it would be hypocritical to post and not practice what I preach..
So sweetums, here is the daily devotional manual for today; authored by my pastor and mentor, Dr Amos Fenwa.

Daily Prophetic Flow

TITLE: Living A Life of Thanksgiving To The Lord

Heart-to-Heart

1 Thess. 5:18 - No matter what happens, always be thankful; for this is the will of God to you who belong to Christ.
Psalm 100:4 - Enter His courts with thanksgiving, enter His gates with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name

For God's people, thanksgiving is more than a special day on the calendar. The Bible urges us to live a life of thanksgiving each day. When thanksgiving becomes 'thanks-living', then your life really begins to take an attractive flavor. Being thankful to God for all of His blessings is truly a mark of a Christian. It is one of the most powerful activities a child of God can do. Yet it is the most difficult for us because the devil knows the power of thanksgiving.
The following are four biblical ways to express our thanksgiving to God according to Psalms 100:1-5:

1. Shout Praises to the Lord: The Bible says "Make a joyful noise to the Lord". In the Bible, shouting is associated with great achievement or joy. Joshua told Israel to march round Jericho for six days and on the seventh day to give a great shout. When they did, the walls of Jericho fell (Joshua 6)
Thanksgiving triggers a flow of joy which is our weapon of victory. When you are thanking or praising God, don't be afraid to be a little loud. God loves to hear our praises!

2. Serve the Lord with Gladness: Gladness means mirth, gaiety and happiness. No service to God, whether great or small, should be done grudgingly. Sincere and true delight in service to God should accompany our words and deeds of worship. When you serve the Lord, endeavor to do so with a glad heart.

3. Come into the Lord's Presence: "Come before His presence with singing". God calls us to come into His presence privately each day and together in corporate worship.
"Evening and morning and at noon, I will pray and cry aloud and He shall hear my voice (Psalm 55:17). It was said of the New Testament Church that they met daily in the temple for teaching form the Word, fellowship, worship and praise.

4. Get to know the Lord: " Know that the Lord, He is God, it is He who made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture".
The heart desire of every godly person should be to develop intimacy with the Father in the inner chambers.

Let's make it our determination to praise and worship God. Thanksgiving keeps you humble and helps you to remain grateful. Remember what you thank God for will multiply in your life.
