Zulu Obanor: The cropped top
09:03
Yaaayyy!!!!
It's Friday and in the 'TGIF' spirit, we present to you our maiden #FridayFashion article "The Cropped Top" by my girl, Zulu "VeeZeeOh" Obanor.
Enjoy!
The re-emergence of the cropped top has been nothing but savory to all flat stomached fashion lovers.
The idea of tops that stopped at the waist came into being as far back as 1983, with rebel musician; Madonna in one of her music videos titled Lucky Star where she had on a mesh cropped number.
Since then, it has been in the fashion scene, blooming most especially in the 1990's only taking a break in the early 2000's up until recently.
Ardent trend followers have borrowed a leaf, or the whole trees in the forest from our predecessors, but with a modern twist.
Not to be deceived that the very flat stomached alone own this trend, it's worthy of note that the top can be worn on a tank top or any suitable looking garment underneath for those who do not fall into the 'stomachless' category. The look can also be achieved by the tops that stop at the mid riff paired with high waist bottoms.
It could be worn over skirts, shorts or trousers.
One should know her body type and proceed in wearing this trend with caution.
