If God wasn't so sure that Joseph and Mary would be good parents to raise Jesus, do you think He would have given Jesus to them? Just take some time to think about what must have been going through Mary's mind after the angel appeared to her, the anxiety about giving birth to a special child, what kind of a mother she'd be, etc. But in the end, didn't everything work out just fine?
Hence, when God gives you something, a job, an idea, an opportunity, a position, a relationship, whatever it may be, God also gives you the ability to do it and do it excellently well. Many times, we pray to have an excellent Spirit like Daniel and the 3 other Hebrew children, but do you know that the excellent Spirit didn't mean they automatically knew everything? Rather, the Spirit helped them learn everything they needed with a different and deeper understanding. Daniel 1:17 - God gave these four young men wisdom and the ability to learn many things that people had written and studied. Daniel could also understand visions and dreams[NCV].
You see, to learn means to acquire a knowledge you didn't have before. We need to understand that the fact that God has given us an opportunity doesn't mean we are preloaded with all the knowledge we need to execute it. Many times, what we get is a grace to learn faster and deeper. Also, the fact that you started out knowing so little doesn't mean you can't finish as the best, Daniel and his guys already proved to us it's very possible.
Therefore, I don't know what you think you're lacking to be who you want to be, but I can tell you the grace to learn, excellent Spirit is available. Even if you're the last to start, with God, you can never carry last. God Bless You!
