The fact that you can copy what others are doing doesn't mean you'd get their result, especially in the things of God.

When I started getting serious in my relationship with God, I observed that during prayer meetings, I'd often see people open their Bibles after praying for a while. Some would even share with everyone the verse God has just ministered to them and then we'd pray it together. I used to wonder how God used to give them these verses, did they hear a voice or something, and why is God not giving me? Then, I decided to starting opening my Bible to whatever verse my hand finds during prayer too and when I do, I often don't find any magical Scripture.

Proverbs 8:17 says - I love those who love me. Those eagerly looking for me will find me[GW].

You see, even though I wasn't really getting the desired result I wanted while copying other people's actions, I never stopped reading my Bible whenever I had a chance to. Today, I still don't hear a voice whispering Bible verses into my ears, but I often have instances during prayer, where a Bible verse(s) I once came across just jumps into my thoughts from nowhere and it simply makes sense in line with what I'm praying about. Even when I don't know where the verse is in the Bible, "Google" has never fallen my hand.

I'm not saying it's impossible to hear a voice, neither am I saying my method is more legitimate, I'm only trying to show that when you seek God, He finds you in a way you'd understand. God is not hiding from you, He wants you to see, know and understand what He wants from you at every point in time. God Bless You!

Have you ever been curious enough to know what kind of root supports the biggest trees? I decided to check this out and found a few interesting stuffs. It is said that while a lot of trees might have a dominant tap root when they are young, they subsequently grow support roots which grows out from the trees. Further more, the most interesting thing I learnt is the fact that roots do not make holes in the ground, they only find existing holes, grow into them and make them bigger as they continue to grow.
Here are a few things you and I can learn so we can grow big, strong and firm like some of the biggest trees. Let your life and everything you do start with a "tap root" rooted in God, let God be the source and foundation of your life. After this, grow support roots. God could have created a planet for every human if relationships are not needed, you need people just as much as they need you. Also, isn't it interesting the even roots, do not try to force their way into the ground, they only look for open spaces. Likewise, don't force yourself into people's lives. There are too many people praying to have someone like you in their life for you to be burning your energy on those that do not want you. When Jesus sent His disciples out to preach, He told them - Mark 6:11 - “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way"[MSG]. Hence, if hearing the Gospel is not by force, please friendship shouldn't be either. If God has made it such that trees can grow so big and strong without forcing their way into the ground, but by finding and ceasing opportunities, I believe you can do the same. Remember, Jesus said if God could be so mindful of the lilies and the trees in the garden, why would He not do much more for You, His very own image. God Bless You!
