Balanced diet: A diet that contains adequate amounts of all the necessary nutrients required for healthy growth and activity. Just as eating a balanced diet is important for our physical body, it is also very important for our Spirit.
I think it's important for every Christian to have a healthy spirit - inner man, and a healthy spirit is one in which the fruit of the Spirit are operational. So what is the fruit of the Spirit again? But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong -
Galatians 5:22-23 [NCV].
You see, every child of God that has the Spirit of God living in him/her has every single one of those traits mentioned above, because the Bible refers to them as the "fruit of the Spirit", which means it's one fruit containing different nutrients. Hence, now that you are born again, even if you used to be hot tempered, it's possible to get to the point where some of the things that used to set you off no longer has any effect on you, because when they happen God's Spirit within supplies a balanced diet of His fruit to calm your nerves. Likewise, the same person that used to seem mean spirited to people now tends to seem more like a natural lover.
You see, there is nothing like "this is how I am" for any Child of God with a bad attitude, because the Holy Spirit is there to supply you the right emotional diet for every situation. Therefore, if it's obvious you need help in some areas, just ask, and let God do the necessary work within you. God Bless You!
