Wherever two, three or more are gathered together in God's name, your inclusion in that number is very important. Today, I'd like to discuss three examples from the Bible that would show the role you play and these should help you take your contribution to church services or any other spiritual gathering more seriously.
If it wasn't documented in the Bible, would you have believed that the unbelief of people around hindered the flow of God's power through Jesus. Just think about it, a whole Jesus, 100% man and 100% God, "could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them"[Mark 6:1-6]. I'm sure you'd agree that Jesus was always full of God's anointing, yet in this case the output was low, so you see that "dry" gatherings are not always due to a lack of anointing?
Case 2: I believe you already know what happened at the tower of Babel, and it case you don't, well, some guys decided to build a tower that would get to heaven. It wasn't stated how high they went, but they did enough to get God's attention (maybe the current world's tallest building isn't even as tall as what they did, who knows). However, "the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do". Please note, there was no mention that this people were anointed, all they had was unity.
Psalms 133:1-2 - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil [of consecration] poured on the head, Coming down on the beard, Even the beard of Aaron, Coming down upon the edge of his [priestly] robes [consecrating the whole body][AMP].
I hope you see that as much as the anointing is very important, which might not always require your input, unity is also very important, and this requires your input. To show that, think about the day of Pentecost, it was recorded that "they were all with one accord in one place". Hence, i guess we can conclude that a united church is a powerful church, and you have a role to play in that unity. God Bless You!

I think I have one of the simplest list of best foods; drinking garri, plantain and sweet potatoes, in that order(you can see my wife won't have to go through so much stress just to prepare my best food, lol). I know most people would rather have meals like fried rice, chicken and chips, starch and banga, pounded yam and egusi, etc as their best meal, what I really need you to see, is the fact that your best meal is only at it's best when it's a combination of different individual food items.
Even for a garri guy like me, there is another level of glory that is revealed when the garri goes down with a wonderfully fried fish, and plantain or potatoes can not be the same when combined with a glorious sause. I think this basically speaks about the power of agreement.
I'm yet to find the names of the childhood friends of Jesus in the Bible, but as soon as He started His core assignment, one of the first things He did was to get partners, and we all know their names. My teacher once said that one of the reasons why God won't let you do everything all by yourself is so that you won't think it all happened by your own power.
I also found out that Jesus didn't just use His disciples to fulfill His calling then dump them, He also made sure that each of them found fulfillment, working with him. Amos 3:3 says - Do two people walk hand in hand if they aren’t going to the same place?[MSG]
Therefore, don't work or live in isolation, else you are preventing the best of you from coming out. However, when you work with people, give your all to making sure they succeed and much as you would want them to give unto you, that is what God would expect from you. God Bless You!

Anchor Song: Count Your Blessings

I think one important time for you to count your blessings is when things are not looking good, periods when you don't feel so blessed. One of those things emotions do to us, is the fact it consumes our ability to remember, so at times when you are happy you forget that you've been down, and when you are down, you forget the many times you've been on top of the world.
Think about it, when you have used a particular device to solve a problem before, it would be easier for you to trust the ability of that device to solve a similar problem the next time. Likewise, counting your blessings reminds you of how much God has done for you in times past, it reminds of the impossible situations He made possible and all the small - big blessings in between. By the time you do this a few times, the current challenges won't seem to overwhelming anymore, because you are conscious of the God who's got your back. Psalms 107:43 - Listen, if you are wise, to what I am saying. Think about the loving-kindness of the Lord![TLB]
You see, counting your blessings is like shining light in a dark room, and the more you do, the brighter it gets. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, so when you get mindful of how much He has done for you before, you can easily expect Him to show up again. Therefore, I think today is a good day for you to count your blessings, the hope you need is not so far away, it's on your lips - count your blessings, not your worries, and watch your hopes rise again. God Bless You!

But wait o, it actually seems like all the leading ministers I know have decided to create a scheme of work for this year. Thanks to social media, it’s quite easy now to follow several ministers and receive from the grace they carry, and one thing I have noticed, particularly from the beginning of this year is the fact that many of them seem to have the same focus. It is either they held a meeting and decided to what to teach, or the same Spirit of God that works in each of them is directing everyone’s focus in a certain direction.
As a student of physics, I have a little understand of what happens when rays of light are focus at a single point – tremendous amount of power is generated at that point, so can it be that God is showing us His power bank through this focus?
In case you are wondering what this focus I’m talking about is, it is simply the word of God. the emphasis many of the ministers I follow have been placing on working with the word of God ever since this year began is just something else. Sometimes, I read points from some ministers online and it sounds like what my teacher thought in class. No! These men can not be copying each other’s notes, I has to be God saying something to us all in this season.
1 Timothy 4:15 says - Put these abilities to work; throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone may notice your improvement and progress[TLB]. Hence, I think it’s time to go beyond knowing so many scriptures by heart, to living out many of these scriptures in every day experiences. If the same scripture you know is working wonders in one person’s life, would it be a crime for it to do the same in yours? God Bless You!

Anchor Song: Resting Place

Don’t be deceived, whoever told you that your weekend is meant to be a time to just lounge away lied, a big lie for that matter. What if I put it to you that weekends can actually be one of your most productive periods of the week, especially for those of us who’s passion has not grown to the point of paying the bills.
I can imagine someone thinking, what happened to the idea of resting after a busy week? True! And that the first myth I think we should deal with. I know the popular notion is that to rest means a period of doing nothing, but how correct is that really? Looking at the Bible, Hebrews 4:11 says - Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief[KJV]. So think about it, if rest is indeed about doing nothing, then how can the Bible tell us to labour to arrive at that?
I decided to follow this path today because of what our society seems to have turned weekends into, from the moment people say TGIF, it seems the most productive section of their brain just goes on vacation. I once heard one of the richest men in Africa say that, even though he is a football fan, it is impossible for him to watch 2 full matches in one weekend. Mike Murdock said, a man that can not manage time can not manage money. At this point, I think rest for most of us young people should mean the point at which we start living our dreams in it’s fullness, and if you are not there yet, then your weekends might be the best time to go for it. You should not be making out time for productivity after you have done all the activities and owambes, it should actually be the other way round. I think the rest you should desire is not the one in which you do nothing, but the one in which you have the freedom to be/do what you want, just the way you like it. God Bless You!

Anchor Song: Keep Yo Mind
Artist: Deitrick Haddon

Have you ever stopped to wonder where those thoughts actually come out from, the ones that takes time to analyse and pass judgement on people in church services. You can’t tell me you don’t know what I’m talking about, or do you need me to remind you of some of them? Remember that lady you labelled fake and you believe she’s just seeking attention because you think she is too active and outspoken, or the guy you are convinced is a player and must be in church just for the ladies. I know these two are even small when compared to some of the other opinions you have developed about different people you see in church, but have you ever bothered to ask yourself, what really is your business?
From experience, I can tell you that most of the people we make these opinions about and pass judgement on are people we know next to nothing about, yet we dissect them, label them in our minds and go around with these false labels.
Jesus, in Luke 18 taught a parable about 2 men that came to pray, a Pharisee and a tax collector. While the pharisee’s prayer reflects his analysis of the people surrounding him, the tax collector’s prayer shows he was not even concerned about the people around, he just came to seek God. Luke 18:14 says - Jesus commented, "This tax man, not the other, went home made right with God. If you walk around with your nose in the air, you're going to end up flat on your face, but if you're content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself"[MSG].
So you see, while you are busying analyzing people, those people are busying getting blessed, and the more you poison your mind with negative thoughts about others, the less conducive it becomes to receive your own blessing. So, Keep Yo Mind!!! God Bless You!
